How we fund
Each year The Women’s Fund will make a limited number of grants. Average awards are not expected to exceed $5,000 each. We have only one funding cycle per year. Only one grant proposal per year may be submitted by an agency.
Funded projects are selected by our Grants Committee and submitted to our
Board of Directors for final approval.
What are the funding priorities of The Women’s Fund?
• To create opportunities for economic, educational and personal
growth for women and girls of all ages.
• To encourage the advancement and full participation of women
and girls in the community.
Who is eligible for funding?
• The Women’s Fund invites requests for funding that will assist women and/or girls in Herkimer and Oneida counties. Gender and geographic location are the sole restrictions on those who may benefit. There is no minimum amount that must be requested.
• Organizations must be designated as tax-exempt under Section 501(c) (3)
of the Internal Revenue Service Code, or a fiscal agent with that status.
